If I deliberately change the display resolution of the Fusion window of the remote mac from the top toolbar to lower than the Retina setting (ie if I change it from the default 27' imac res 2560x1440 down to 1080p for example), the cursor issue goes away, but of course I am left with a much lower res Fusion window with not very sharp text and graphics.Ĭhanging it back and the picture is perfect but the cursor offset is back. But the mouse cursor is not highlighting what it is sitting on, rather the next item up and to the left. I have restarted the remote mac and the VM opens and displays pin sharp in a single window or full screen (I run single window). My connection to the office mac is now exactly as it was all throughout last year and the problem is still there. This rules out the Big Sur side of things as the machine hardware has not changed at this end, just the OS it is booted into. Going back to my Catalina machine here does not fix the problem - the cursor is still offset to the bottom and right. I do have a clone of the Catalina as a backup and will reboot into that later but just wondered if anyone had any thought on what might be the issue and a fix? The same mac hardware at home (when previously on Catalina) never had any problem. This behaviour has only manifested since I have connected from my home Big Sur mac.

To get an item on the app menu, I have to position the actual pointer slightly lower and to the right of the actual item I want. Double click works, right click works, everything works, except that the pointer is not displaying the item under where it is currently located.įor example, in an app, when I put the pointer on top of menu, it is actually on the mac screen bar. I have noticed that, when navigating around various apps when connected to the office mac, my mouse highlights items about 10mm away from where the pointer is displayed. However, my mac at home was recently upgraded to Big Sur (from Catalina) and my office mac is Mojave (not upgraded due to some plug ins not being available anymore). I am controlling my office mac from my home mac via TeamViewer now - all works fine, everything runs as it should with no app issues.
